Yard Art Competition Press Release 2021

Spring is almost here... Drexel Foundation’s Yard Art Competition could win you $100

DREXEL Foundation in 2020 created a “Yard Art Competition”. They are at it again, giving away a $100 cash prize in 2021 for “best of show”. This year's competition theme is “Grow with Positivity”  a message to engage youth and families in a positive way to embrace art. How do win you ask? In your own yard, driveway or sidewalk with social distancing in mind, art can still flourish, so create something. The yard art can be in any visual format such as painting, sculpture, recycled items, stacked rocks, sidewalk chalk, and incorporate the positive message, “Grow with Positivity”. The rules for this competition are pretty simple and can be found along with the registration sheet (here)Anyone from anywhere can enter. Youth must have parental permission before starting. In order to compete just have the signed artist registration submitted with the photos of your art by the ENTRY DEADLINE of  March 20, 2021. Remember the art must be rated G and the viewing of this art is “for kids, by kids and with kids in mind.”

The Drexel Foundations art programming developed over the years in response to suggestions of identified need. “Our T-shirt design contest gave us this great theme. We have a need to fill. While we are still limited due to COVID, we brought back this fun event. It is similar to our other competitions with 4 age categories so that the entire family can participate. Last year 3 people entered as an adult team.” Said Sandijean Fuson President of the Drexel Foundation. The Age categories are 4-11, 12-14, 15-19, 20-up. Each age category 1st place wins a prize! Best of Show wins $100 cash. All entries are to be emailed to usThe rules are simple, take a before picture of the space you are creating the artwork in and then take an after photo. Submit both your photos and the registration form to the Drexel Foundation. The winners will be announced on social media April 1, 2021 on Facebook, Instagram, and right here on our website.

T-Shirt Design Contest Winners

The Drexel Foundations' first T-shirt design art contest was a huge success. The artists were asked to incorporate the words of the Drexel Foundation’s mantra: You matter, You are important Tu Importas! Every design masterfully captured the essence of the Drexel Foundations' mission, activities, and impact on our community. There were a total of 35 entries with participants ranging in ages from 10-77. It was an impressive group of artists. The judges had a hard time picking the winners but after much deliberation, we have our winners! We are working on getting these designs on t-shirts for our volunteers as well as for them to be available to purchase. As soon as we have more information we will share it with everyone. Please keep checking our page for the information.
