Art Builds Communities Public Art Project

On November 3rd Amy Bond completed her senior project with an artist reception to unveil the Art Builds Communities, Public Art Project. Bond teamed up with the Drexel H. Foundation and had fellow peers create a tile with their art work on it. Kacie Shaffer Vale High School Art Teacher, helped direct this part of the project. Last spring she had her art classes draw on a 12 x 12 tiles. With a theme of “how the community has shaped them as an individual?” After the tiles were completed Bond started her part of the project. She created stands to display the art work. She put her engineering and construction skills to work and created four “A” shaped stands. These stands display the art work perfectly. Bond worked side by side with Sandijean Fuson President of the Drexel Foundation to create her part in the project. There were some bumps in the road but with Bonds hard work and dedication to the project a beautiful master piece was created. The Drexel Foundation can now proudly display the art work. The stands will be on display in the Grand Opera house and in the warmer weather out front in the patio area for that building.
